What Maisie Knew (2012) - Alexander Skarsgard , Julianne Moore

What Maisie Knew is the story of a young girl who has to deal with the separation of her damaged but wealthy parents ; Rock and Roll star Sussana played by the amazing Julianne Moore and her live in partner , the always busy Art Dealer Beale. Things come to a head when her father marries her loving nanny Margo , and her mother in turn marries a bartender by the name of Lincon played by the talented Alexandrer Skarsgard . As Maisie's parents become more busy and more focused on their own individual lives .Maisie begins to bond more with her step parents , as she is left more with them and they surprisingly appear to be better guardians toward the young girl

I'm a big fan of Alexander Skarsgard ever since I saw him in HBO's Generation Kill , and his turn in this movie I have to say is a charming and amazing portrayal of a man who essentially from the onset appears ill suited to be a parent , but turns out to be a loving father figure . The rest of the cast also delivers an amazing performance , especially the young girl who portrays Maisie , she shows amazing promise as an actress and her innocence mixed with her serious eyes lights up the screen. Julianne Moore as the mother mixes well the adoring and menacing side of Susanna and you can't really decide if you hate her or pity her. The storyline is great in its twist and turns and the narrative opens up slowly but draws you in especially in the middle when Maisie starts to really warm up to her step parents . Although a bit slow for me in the start ,this film is beautifully made , and wonderfully crafted... Not something you can pass off.
