White House Down (2013)

I was actually excited to watch this movie . I'm a political junkie and I like action movies as much as the next guy. The film deals with a terrorist attack on the white house , the same premise that the earlier released Olympus has fallen has also tackled. I liked Olympus, it was action packed , it was a great ride , but in the end it was just another action summer blockbuster. Is white house down any different? Well first of all , there is less action in White House Down . Olympus was non-stop adrenaline . Potentially I think , White House Down could have been the better film. But it really is not . There were a lot of boring and cheesy stuff happening in the film . And I think they should have had lessened the role of Channing Tatum's annoying daughter or had cut her out all together. Seriously this movie would have been way better without her in it. The plot and storyline could have had moved on smoother if there was no annoying girl in tow. Maybe if she was just left at home , give her a cameo not a big role in the entire film. And make her disappear with the annoying tour guide as well . So let me spit out the obvious. If you are looking for a great time , a great watch , and mindless action watch Olympus has Fallen. White House Down is fluff . Yeah it is a nice watch , but the action could not make up for the annoying and cheesy stuff going on in between the gunfights and explosions. Not even top caliber actors like academy award winner Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal could salvage it . It's not bad, but not good either .
